  • Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent; OR
  • Successful completion of a Certificate I or Certificate II qualification
C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate I or Certificate II

Participants are required to be 18 years or over and meet the physical fitness required for mine site entry

 Certificate IV in Resource Processing

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working with civil construction plant, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. The individual may provide theoretical advice and support a team. 

Selection Criteria

  • Students must not have fear of confinement
  • Students must have the capacity to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Due to the physical requirements of these units the student must have the ability to perform lifting and manual excavation tasks using a variety of equipment
  • Students must be able to get on their knees on the floor and perform CPR on a manikin continuously for a least 2 minutes

Mode of Assessment

On-the-job/Work Based – Students will complete all
their training and assessments on the job, with the
exception of the electives:

HLTAID011 Provide first aid

RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces

These two electives will be delivered through attendance at Face to Face training. Participants will be required to complete a written theory assessment and undertake a practical
assessment for each UOC.
